We believe your phone
is already powerful enough
to be your desktop.

It just needs the right platform behind it. That’s what we’re building.

Where the name comes from

Neximo is derived from the Latin word nexus - meaning connection, bond, or link - combined with -imo, a suffix used in Romance languages to convey the superlative: the most, the ultimate.

The ultimate connection. Not just between a person and their applications, but between any device and any environment - without friction, without hardware dependency, without cost barriers.

We chose a name that meant something in the old world to describe something new: computing that finally works the way it should have always worked.

nex·imo

nexus (Latin) - connection, bond, link between things
-imo (Romance suffix) - the ultimate, the most
“The ultimate connection - between you and your work, regardless of where you are or what device you hold.”

Why we built this

01

The meeting with three laptops

The original idea came from watching a colleague carry three separate devices to a weekly team meeting: a work laptop issued by the company, a personal MacBook for design work, and a tablet for presentations. Each device was managed separately, backed up differently, and replaced on its own schedule. None of them shared files cleanly. The person carrying them was not unusually disorganized - this was simply what modern work looked like. We thought that was wrong.

02

The IT bill nobody reads closely enough

When we started looking at the numbers, we were surprised. Most companies treat hardware as a straightforward capital cost - you buy a laptop, you use it for three years, you buy another one. But the purchase price is less than 20% of what a device actually costs over its life. Support tickets, MDM licenses, IT staff hours, security incidents, productivity lost to slow machines, data recovery after failures - the real bill is five times what’s on the invoice. And most of it is invisible.

03

The phone in everyone’s pocket

The thing that everyone already carries, charges every night, and treats with more care than any laptop - the smartphone - has enough processing power and screen quality to be a perfectly capable thin client. It just needed the right backend. WebRTC, containerization, and cloud infrastructure have all matured to the point where this is now possible at low cost and low latency. The technology was ready. A product wasn’t.

So we built one.

04

Motivated by what we saw in emerging markets

The hardware problem is most acute where budgets are tightest. In many parts of the world, a capable laptop costs several months of income. Smartphones are ubiquitous; powerful laptops are not. Neximo is fundamentally an equalizer: if you have a phone and a reasonable internet connection, you can access the same computing environment as someone with a €2,800 workstation. We find that motivating.

The end state: your phone is your desktop.

The long-term vision for Neximo is a world where plugging your phone into a monitor dock gives you a full cloud desktop. Keyboard and mouse connect to the dock. DisplayPort carries the video. The phone is just the connection point. All the compute lives in the cloud.

📲

Phase 1: Browser PWA

Stream any app to your phone browser. Install as a PWA. Touch input, full-screen, <100ms latency. Live now in beta.

🤖

Phase 2: Native Android App

Native app with USB HID device detection. Keyboard and mouse connected to phone work natively in your cloud session.

🖥

Phase 3: Dock & Display

Phone plugs into monitor dock via USB-C. DisplayPort Alt Mode carries the video. Your phone becomes a desktop thin client for under €200 in hardware.

Our values

Honesty over hype

We publish our SLA truthfully, including the parts that aren’t great yet. We don’t claim uptime we don’t have. We tell you exactly what your plan includes and what it doesn’t.

Security as a first-class concern

Container isolation, zero-trust networking, no data on-device, regular CVE scanning. Security is not a feature we’ll add later. It’s a constraint we design around from day one.

Simplicity over feature sprawl

The best IT tool is the one your team actually uses. We optimize for a setup time measured in minutes, not weeks. One dashboard. No agents. No VPN configuration guides.

Sustainability through longevity

Hardware that isn’t replaced doesn’t become e-waste. A model where your phone outlasts your device refresh cycle isn’t just cheaper - it’s better for the planet. We take that seriously.
